The Forensic Nurse Examiner- FNE (RN) Center of Hope will be responsible for demonstrating performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, performance, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of the organization. The Registered Nurse manages patient care in the healthcare continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner. The Registered Nurse demonstrates skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.
Your exceptional skills
Provide forensic examinations and nursing services for victims of violence. Collect and preserve forensic specimens while maintaining the chain of custody. Work collaboratively to meet the acute needs of primary and secondary forensic patients by making appropriate patient referrals through identification and coordination of services throughout the Community Health Network and with a variety of external partners.
Your exceptional qualifications
Graduate of Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN) or three years related professional nursing experience.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency required. Minimum 2 years recent acute care clinical experience as a registered nurse required- preferably in ED, ICU, PCU, OB or Med Surg. Forensic Nurse Examiner experience preferred.
Completion of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course in accordance with the International Association of Forensic Nurses Education Guidelines required or completed within 2 years of hire date into position
Will travel between Community Hospitals North, South and East. Training for SANE-A certification is available and would require a 2 year commitment to the position.
