The Director Perinatal Program position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Duties

The Director of the Perinatal Program is responsible for providing direction, overall program development, and execution of business plans related to the Perinatal Center. This leader will develop, implement and coordinate outreach with affiliates regionally, provide overall program management, plan and develop state conferences, perinatal conferences, and training for affiliates; and analyze and evaluate regional data as part of collaboration with affiliates to promote quality assurance, and support services.


Five (5) years of OB or NICU nursing experience in a Level III or Level IV unit with a minimum of three (3) years of progressive management / leadership experience.


Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master's must be obtained within five (5) years of assuming the role. Certification in relevant specialty must be obtained within three (3) years of assuming the role.


Current Indiana Registered Nurse License.

  • Must have interpersonal skills including motivation, flexibility, persistence, and patience, as well as the ability to build effective working relationships with providers.
  • Must have effective communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must have the ability to relate in a non-judgmental and culturally competent manner, and have knowledge of and creativity regarding community resources.
  • Must possess knowledge of or readiness to learn strengths-oriented Recovery and Resiliency Models.
  • Must value client / family centered care and be able to apply strengths-based needs assessment.
  • Must possess effective organizational skills.
  • Requires an in-depth knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Requires a visionary with the ability to think in a positive and creative manner.
  • Requires the ability to lead performance improvement initiatives; must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to lead groups and programs.
  • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle according to CHI policy and be able to make affiliate based site visits.
