The Director Clinical Informatics, Well-Being Solutions position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Duties

The Director Clinical Informatics, Well-Being Solutions serves as a bridge between clinical caregivers and information technology, working at a leadership level to ensure well-being solutions are investigated and implemented to improve the well-being of all clinical caregivers. The Director understands the operational and strategic vision of the Network and the importance of clinicians’ well-being, and uses technology integration to improve the well-being of caregivers, patient safety, quality care, and positive outcomes to drive the operational and strategic vision of the organization. The Director:

  • Develops and executes the well-being solutions strategy.
  • Works with and champions existing and new technologies, such as closed loop analytics, for clinical workflow improvements, enterprise voice recognition, virtual scribes, automatic badge login technology and Clinical Document Improvement/Computer Assisted Provider Documentation.
  • Leads measurement, analysis and improvement activities related to well-being technology.
  • Leads the team of Informatics Specialists.


Five (5) years of experience in clinical or information technology field required. Three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience preferred. Experience working with providers and clinical leadership required.

Must have a proven track record of developing and executing informatics, information technology or related strategy, as well as documented experience working with executive leadership to gain buy in and partnership for strategic initiatives.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a clinical or information technology related field required. Clinical Degree is preferred, but not required. Master’s degree or equivalent in a clinical or information technology field highly preferred.

Within the first twelve (12) months in role, completion of Performance Excellence Yellow Belt training and certification.

  • Must have a passion for excellent patient care and the promotion of clinical best practice, be a creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player / consensus builder who promotes the concept of people working together versus individual performance.
  • Must have with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and work effectively with a diversity of personalities and with people at all levels of the organization, especially executive level leadership and providers.
  • Must be a strong leader with an understanding of priorities and solid practical experience to implement the vision for the organization, and a systems thinker with strong organizational skills who can pull all the pieces together and manage multiple projects.
  • Must be politically savvy with a high tolerance for ambiguity and work successfully in a matrix management model. This requires a strong leader who is adaptable and has a strong collaborative management style.
  • Must understand major trends in healthcare and managed care, and have extensive knowledge of currently available point of care products and medical informatics development.
  • An individual with strong self-confidence who is assertive without being arrogant or ostentatious, and who possesses confidence in heavy physician interaction.
