The Director of Analytics position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Duties

The Director of Analytics has a primary responsibility of leading the Analytics Center of Excellence (COE), and overseeing / coordinating all data analytics activities to ensure alignment with the Network’s vision and objectives. The Director of Analytics aligns and directs the management, development, and integration of the data analytics and business intelligence necessary to support the mission, vision, strategies, objectives, and goals of the Network.

Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in a data analytics or a data science department, preferably as a Head of Analytics.
  • Broad, deep, and successful experience bringing together diverse functions and building teams which include data analytics and data science personnel, guiding them through successful data analytic projects.
Education
  • Must have either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Alternate education in equivalent areas such as economics, epidemiology, and healthcare analytics, is acceptable. Strongly prefer experience in more than one subject area.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a data analyst or data scientist in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing analytical teams preferred.

Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions.
  • Business acumen and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike.
  • Considerable experience in solving business problems with analytical solutions, preferably advanced analytical solutions.
  • Proven data literacy — the ability to describe business use cases / outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches / options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT and quant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated influence, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with innovation and ideation methods, such as design thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across multiple levels of the organization and work with developing and diverse project teams.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and motivating both the core team and distributed resources, with a broad range of skill sets.
  • Proven experience in conducting statistical analysis and analytical building models.
  • Familiarity with advanced scripting language such as R, SPSS or other analytic tools.
  • Experience building and deploying predictive models, and scalable data pipelines.
  • Healthcare data / content and process understanding (which are more important than technical skills).
  • Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques.
