Reports to the Site Coordinator. Supervises, directs and controls the activities of employees engaged in the preparation and service of all food served in the Hospital and ancillary facilities. Assists with the preparation of food when necessary. Ensures that food items prepared meet or exceed appearance.
Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily required through completion of a high school diploma, and a 2 year degree in food management, diet technology, or completion of the dietary manager’s course.
Six to twelve months experience to: a) acquire a thorough working knowledge of food production procedures and techniques; b) learn the duties associated with the position; c) learn departmental policies; and d) develop suitable analytical, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
