The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist -Women’s Health position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Duties
  • Participates in direct patient care in specialty area and works closely with physicians and health care teams within the ambulatory and acute care setting
  • Facilitates the delivery of safe, effective and pharmacoeconomical medications to the patient population of that specialty area
  • Establish ambulatory care pharmacy services in women’s health utilizing a collaborative drug therapy agreement
  • Other aspects of the position include participation in education, guideline/policy development and implementation, professional development, and performance improvement initiatives
  •  Orients, mentors, and serves as a clinical resource for staff, pharmacy residents, and students
  •  Provides education to patients and caregivers

  •  Successful completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience. Ambulatory care, internal medicine experience strongly encouraged. 
  • Experience with computer applications, including spreadsheet, database, and presentation software preferred
  •  Experience with quality improvement projects preferred

Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy required, Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent advanced degree in pharmacy

Valid Indiana Pharmacist license must be obtained with six months of hire

  •  Strong clinical skills and the ability to apply pharmacotherapeutic principles of rational drug therapy (application of evidence-based guidelines, pharmacoeconomics, innovative/novel medication therapy, etc) to patient care
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Demonstrates caring behavior
  •  Leadership and cohesive team-building skills
  •  Clear understanding of quality improvement process principles
  •  Read and carry out complex oral and written directions
  •  Prepare, read, and interpret detailed reports
  •  Function independently with no supervision
  • High level decision making responsibility
  •  Analyze available information and formulate plans
  •  Plan own work activities
  •  Direct and coordinate work activities of others
  •  The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area
