Job Location
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) position is located at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Duties
The Certified Surgical Technologist serves as a member of the surgical team, working with surgeons, anesthesiologists/CRNAs, registered nurses and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care, and assuming appropriate responsibilities in the preoperative arena.

Experience
One (1) year of current CST experience preferred in an operating room; CVOR experience preferred

Education
Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited school for CST

License
CST must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification required.

Skills
  • Requires the expertise in the understanding of aseptic principles
  • Oral communication skills are required to communicate appropriately with the entire surgical team
  • Written skills are required for appropriate documentation
  • Ability to work with peers
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
