Job LocationThe Cardiovascular Sonographer position is located in Kokomo, Indiana.

Job Duties
  • Performs a variety of diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures
  • Performs procedures that will require independent judgment and highly technical training
  • May be assigned to instruct in areas of specific competence.
  • Maintains a safe, pleasant, and clean environment for performance of diagnostic testing
  • Maintains testing tapes, disks, and records in a manner conducive to timely retrieval of information
  • Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as an ultrasound sonographer
  • Assists in departmental functions that promote the Cardiovascular lab
  • The cardiovascular lab performs services for the following age groups: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics
ExperienceMinimum two years of experience as an ultrasound tech.
EducationHigh School equivalent or GED at a minimum.
LicenseRegistered in Echo or Vascular. If not registered at time of hire, will acquire registration within 18 months of employment.CPR and ACLS.
  • Performs unit-specific cardiac and/or vascular diagnostic testing procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the procedures and the normal and abnormal findings of these tests
  • Acts as technical resource person
  • Checks physician order prior to performing test
  • Maintains ARDMS credentials
  • Explains procedures in terms patient can understand
  • Answers patient and family questions to elicit cooperation and relieve apprehension
