Behavioral Health Academy
Would you like to be on the front line of Indiana’s effort to address the opioid epidemic? Would you like to earn your license in social work and addictions at the same time?
Community Behavioral Health, one of largest and most comprehensive behavioral health systems in Indiana, has developed a Behavioral Health Academy in collaboration with the MSW programs at the IUSSW (Indiana University School of Social Work) and the University of Indianapolis.
The MSW programs provide the specialized curriculum required for both the LCSW and LCAC. The Behavioral Health Academy will provide additional training, supervision and experience in treating co-occurring disorders in inpatient, outpatient, residential, schools and home-based settings.
Students in the Academy will learn Motivational Interviewing (MI) and have the opportunity to earn Community’s Endorsement in MI. In addition, students will receive training and exposure to several core evidence-based counseling approaches.
Academy students will receive a $5,000 stipend for the two semesters. Students who are hired by Community will receive another $5,000 when they earn both the LCSW and LCAC.
Admissions decisions to the MSW program are primarily based on a review of your previous undergraduate and graduate work, your experience in human services (paid, volunteer, research, and internship), references and written documentation you provide to our partnership universities.
