Joseph Hooper was named president of Community Howard Regional Health in December 2014. He provides strategic leadership, oversight and direction for Community Health Network’s Howard region through devoted service, relationship building and a comprehensive, innovative vision. Hooper’s seasoned and diverse experience brings skillful guidance at a time of accelerated industry change, ensuring exceptional experiences for every life touched by Community Howard’s care.
Hooper comes to Community from OhioHealth, where he most recently served as chief operating officer for Marion General Hospital. His previous roles included associate vice president of heart and vascular services at Aultman Health Foundation in Canton, Ohio; director of oncology services at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mount Clemens, Michigan; and executive director of Michigan Heart in Ann Arbor. He has served in various management roles for hospital service lines earlier in his career. Hooper received a bachelor of arts degree in public administration from Wright State University and a master of healthcare administration degree from The Ohio State University. He was an Administrative Fellow at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Hooper has been active in his local community and serves as a board member for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. He is a member of Rotary International, and has served as a board member and treasurer of Marion Matters, a Bridges Out Of Poverty initiative. He has also served on the boards of the Center Street Community Health Clinic as well as Marion Ancillary Services.
