Bryan Mills was appointed president and chief executive officer of Community Health Network on May 1, 2009. He previously served as CEO of Visionary Enterprises Inc. (VEI), a for-profit affiliate within Community, from 1992 to 2009. Mills began his career with Community Health Network in 1985 as controller for Community Hospital North.
Mills is very active in the local community. He is the board chair of United Way of Central Indiana, a member and past chair of the boards of the Indiana Hospital Association and Indiana Health Information Exchange, and is board chair of Primaria Health. He also serves on the boards of the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation and Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. Mills also chaired the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville.
Mills is passionate about improving the health of Hoosiers. He was instrumental in convening the Alliance for a Healthier Indiana, which is dedicated to improving public health outcomes. The group is a broad coalition of state leaders representing healthcare organizations, providers, the insurance industry, public health and the business community. The Alliance’s first priority is to reduce the state’s number of smokers.
Mills is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Noblesville, where he has taught fourth and fifth grade Sunday school for more than a decade. He also coached AAU boys’ basketball and baseball for 15 years. He holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Ball State University. The University has honored him with the President’s Medal of Distinction, the Accounting Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award. Bryan and his wife, Cathie (Hahn) Mills, have four sons and three grandsons.
