Anthony Lennen
President, Community Hospital South
Anthony Lennen is president of Community Hospital South on the south side of Indianapolis. In addition to leading daily operations at the hospital, Lennen has overseen the completion of The Next Evolution of Community Hospital South, a major expansion project completed in July 2010 that includes a new, five-story patient tower with all-private rooms, six next-generation operating suites and convenient, expanded outpatient services. The new facility will meet the increased demand for exceptional medical care in southern Marion and Johnson counties.
Lennen’s most recent position was managing director for Catalyst Healthcare Advisors, a health care consulting company focusing primarily on performance improvement. Prior to this position, he was president and CEO of Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Indiana, from 1993 to 2008. He received a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University and a bachelor of science degree from the Purdue University Krannert School of Management.
He is a member of The American College of Healthcare Executives and The Healthcare Financial Management Association, is a past board member of the Indiana Hospital Association, as well as a former member of The Health Care Roundtable. He has served on several community and health care boards and was named to the 1996 Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under Forty class, the publication’s annual list of 40 fast-rising, under-40 business executives in the Indianapolis area. He has also made the IBJ’s Who’s Who in Health Care in central Indiana on numerous occasions
Lennen’s personal interests include golf, weight lifting, running, spectator sports and reading. He and his wife, Beth, live in Shelbyville and have two children.
