Medical Directors

Co-Director, Sleep/Wake Disorders Center

Dr. Haddad completed his internal medicine residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. While training in pulmonary medicine at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, he was involved in research on sleep apnea.

After he finished his pulmonary training, Dr. Haddad joined Community Health Network where he established its sleep lab. The sleep lab grew to the Sleep/Wake Disorder Center and he became co-director of the center.

Dr. Haddad is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the Indiana State Medical Society. He is also a very active member and a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Haddad enjoys serving Community Health Network by holding leadership positions on several committees. He was the chairperson of the Department of Internal Medicine. He also served as chief of staff for Community Hospitals Indianapolis from 1998 to 2000. Today, he is a member of the Board of Trustees for Community Health Network.

Dr. Haddad is particularly interested in sleep apnea and breathing disorders during sleep as well as excessive daytime sleepiness.

A native of Vincennes, Indiana, Dr. Vollmer attained a bachelor of science degree in bioengineering from Purdue University before completing his doctor of medicine degree at Indiana University. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He served multiple residencies in internal medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and in neurology and sleep/wake medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, where he was chief resident.

Dr. Vollmer is board certified in psychiatry and neurology, internal medicine, sleep medicine, and electroencephalography. He has achieved numerous academic and medical awards; is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the American EEG Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; and is a fellow with the Clinical Sleep Society.

Dr. Vollmer established a private practice of neurology and sleep medicine with Community Health Network and became co-director of the Sleep/Wake Disorders Center in 1985.
