Sleep school program is first in state to receive accreditation from AASM

Community Health Network’s 18 month Sleep Technologist Education Program was granted accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Community Health Network’s program is the first in the state to receive this accreditation. Learn more >>

Good sleep is important for good health. But according to the National Sleep Foundation, 65% of Americans report that they do not get enough sleep (most adults need six to eight hours). Sleep disorders and lack of sleep are not just annoyances; they are serious problems. Those with sleep problems may think or move more slowly, make more mistakes or have memory difficulties. These negative effects can lead to poor job productivity and can be a contributing factor in motor vehicle accidents, weight gain, heart problems, colds and flu.

Lack of sleep can also strain emotions, family and job relationships and social encounters, and lead to greater health problems if left untreated. At Community Health Network Sleep/Wake Disorders Center, we diagnose and treat sleep disorders so that each patient can enjoy better health and return to the activities that are most important to them. Patient referral
