Kelly Petersohn, LCSW, is the youth grief specialist with Community Healing Hearts: Youth Bereavement Services. Petersohn has been with Community Health Network since 2004, spending six of those years working with youth and families in behavioral health services.
Prior to Community, Petersohn provided school-based therapy for youth and families with unresolved grief resulting in a number of behavioral and emotional needs.
Petersohn is proud to be on the development team, and serves as camp director, for Camp Erin Indianapolis. As a member of I-CART (Indiana Crisis Assistance Response Team), Petersohn provides support during school crises. A licensed clinical social worker, she combines her passion for art and music while working with youth who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Along with many years assisting kids in Community’s school-based program, Petersohn says, “I’ve had the incredible experience of volunteering at Camp Erin Indianapolis, a grief camp for kids, and look forward to many more years of this amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children. I know I can’t “fix it” or make the death go away, but I can listen and help kids find ways to mourn and grieve in a healthy way.”
