Indy Eleven

Community Sports Medicine is proud to be the official sports medicine provider to Indy Eleven, Indiana’s professional soccer team. Indy Eleven officially kicked off its second season on April 4, 2015. 

Meet our team

Community’s dedicated sports medicine team provides comprehensive care to Indy Eleven players to keep them in peak performance—through a training program that includes fitness, conditioning and strengthening, nutrition services, a team physician and certified athletic trainer.

Team physician, Dr. Michael DaRosa, and certified athletic trainer, Brian Gerlach, instruct team members in their fitness and conditioning program as well as provide individual treatment plans for injuries and rehabilitation program. Other services such as sports nutrition and sports performance are also provided.

Indy Eleven soccer team physician, Dr. Michael DaRosaMichael DaRosa, DO, is a primary sports medicine physician who specializes in non-operative treatments of musculoskeletal conditions. He is a graduate of Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin and received his medical degree from Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. DaRosa completed his residency at Exampla St. Joseph Family Medicine, Denver, Colorado, and received his fellowship training at Indiana University Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.

Dr. DaRosa specializes in acute, chronic and overuse injuries such as sprain, strains, tendonitis and fractures. His areas of special interest include concussion management, osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMT), joint/tendon/ligament injections, regenerative injection therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasound, nutrition guidance and exercise prescriptions.

Dr. DaRosa is a member of American Society for Sports Medicine, American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, Indiana Sports Concussion Network, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association and the Sigma Sigma Phi (National Osteopathic Honor Society).

Married to a physician, Dr. DaRosa enjoys running, snowboarding, playing soccer and disc golf.

Indy Eleven soccer team athletic trainer, Brian Gerlach, ATCBrian Gerlach is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Gerlach is Community Health Network’s lead trainer for Indy Eleven professional soccer team. Gerlach has a bachelor of science degree from James Madison University, Virginia and a master of science degree from High Point University in North Carolina.

Gerlach has previously provided sports medicine coverage for DC United, DC United Youth Academy, University of Indianapolis and for US Soccer in 2010.
