What to bring to the hospital

We want your stay at Community Howard Regional Health to be as comfortable as possible. We recommend that you pack light and bring only a small overnight suitcase or duffel bag including a change of clothing for leaving the hospital. We will provide you with hospital gowns; however, you may bring your own gown or pajamas to wear if you wish.

Other important items to bring include:

  • Bathrobe
  • Brush or comb
  • Slippers
  • Toothbrush or toothpaste
  • Underwear
  • Personal toiletries
  • Socks
  • Glasses or contact lenses with case
  • Names, phone numbers and addresses of next of kin and friends
  • Emergency contact
  • Insurance cards
  • Advance Directives (if you have completed one)

Please do not bring any valuable items with you to the hospital. The hospital cannot be responsible for their safekeeping or for the safekeeping of any personal items.

An accurate record of your medications is vital to your treatment. During your stay, your physician will prescribe any necessary medications, so we ask that you leave previously prescribed medications at home. In the event that you have brought them with you, please inform your nurse.
