Electrophysiologists

Electrophysiologists (EPs) are considered the "electricians" of the heart. They work with the electrical pathways that travel through the heart to make the heartbeat and ensure that the heart keeps beating.

Our physicians have comprehensive and exceptional clinical skills in all areas of clinical electrophysiology. They are trained in a wide range of cardiac electrophysiology and pacing procedures, including highly complex catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia (rapid heart beat), implantation and management of cardiac resynchronization devices, as well as extraction of implantable devices and leads.

John Batchelder, M.D., FACC, FACP, FCCP, electrophysiologist

Education and training: Dr. Batchelder served his fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. His internal medicine internship was at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, and his residency in internal medicine was served at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. He also received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He graduated from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Chad Bonhomme, M.D., electrophysiologist

Education and training: Previously, he was a staff electrophysiologist and director of the EP labs at Illinois Heart and Vascular in Hinsdale, Illinois. Dr. Bonhomme completed his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Florida and his fellowship in electrophysiology at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at St. Vincent Health Care in Indianapolis. Dr. Bonhomme graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Vincent P. Keating, MD, electrophysiologist

Education and training: Dr. Keating attended Notre Dame for his undergraduate, and then Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed further training in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Dr. Keating completed a two-year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology, serving as chief electrophysiologist in his second year, at Aurora Healthcare (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). He also completed a cardiology fellowship at Aurora Healthcare.

Krishna Malineni, M.D., electrophysiologist

Education and training: Previously, Dr. Malineni served as an electrophysiologist at Illinois Heart and Vascular in Hinsdale. He completed his fellowship in cardiology at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and his fellowship in electrophysiology at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit., where he was chosen as chief resident. Dr. Malineni attended Wayne State University, where he earned both his medical degree and bachelor of science in biology.

Emily Rose, M.D., electrophysiologist

Education and training: Dr. Rose attended Brown University earning her bachelor of science degree in neurobiology. She received her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. She completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Rose completed her fellowship in cardiology at the New York University Medical Center and recently completed her fellowship in electrophysiology at the New York University Medical Center. She is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and has a particular interest in genetic cardiac arrhythmic disease. Dr. Rose was named a 2012 Indianapolis Monthly “Top Doctor” in cardiac electrophysiology.
