Youth Programs

Youth sports camps and programsCommunity Healthplex is dedicated to providing quality youth programs for all ages and abilities. Classes include tumbling, dance, seasonal sports, martial arts, kids fitness, Safe Sitter and more.

Pre-registration is required for all youth programs and special events. Participants may register for all programs in Kids Zone or contact Kids Zone at 317-920-7412.

Parent's Night Out (1 - 12 years)

Need a night out for just the grown ups? Leave your children at Community Healthplex where they will have a great time watching a movie, swimming in the pool, playing games and much more.

Every child will also be served pizza for dinner! Registration and payment is required by the Thursday before each Parent’s Night Out. An additional $5 fee will be applied to those who do not pre-register.

Member: First child $15; Each additional child $12
Guest: First child $20; Each additional child $17

Children that cannot swim must bring a flotation device from home for all swimming Parent’s Night Out. Don’t forget their swimsuit either!

School's Out Camp (6 - 12 years)

Spend your break with the Healthplex! Children will get to have fun and be active during their break from school. They will participate in outside activities weather permitting - all types of sports, tennis, crafts, swimming and much more!

Price includes lunch on Fridays and snack daily! An additional $5 fee will be applied to those who do not pre-register by Friday prior to the week of camp. For more information, call Paige Southerland at 317-920-7412.

Guest: $150/week; $45/day

Camper attire: Campers should come dressed to participate in a variety of activities and events. Campers are requested to wear athletic attire along with tennis shoes everyday. Shorts must be fingertip in length. Skorts may be worn, however skirts and jeans are unacceptable. Sandals, crocs, flip flops or dress shoes are NOT acceptable. Clothing should be comfortable and able to get dirty.

What to bring to camp....

  • Sack lunch
  • Pizza Party Fridays are an opportunity for campers to leave their sack lunch at home and have an individual pizza, chips and a drink from the Courtside Café. This is included in the weekly price of camp.
  • Swim suit and goggles
  • Flotation device if your child can not swim. If flotation is not provided your child will NOT be able to swim that day. NO flotation will be provided by the Community Healthplex.
  • Sandals or flip-flops for the locker room
  • Change of clothes
  • Water bottles
  • Tennis racquet (if available)

Private/semi-private instruction

We offer private and semi-private lessons for all programs offered, including tae kwon do, dance, tumbling, volleyball, soccer and basketball. Contact Kids Zone at 317-920-7412 to set up specific days and times. All lessons are 30 minutes.

Tumbling class for childrenTumble on in this high-energy beginning tumbling class. Kids will learn basic tumbling and gross motor skills as well as balance and flexibility. There must be a minimum of 3 participants to run each class.

Do your children love the music and dances of the Disney movies? Come learn the moves to some of the most popular Disney songs. Feel free to come to class dressed as your favorite character! Must be a minimum of 3 participants to run each class.

Sports programs

Develop respect, discipline, self-control, listening skills, coordination, and flexibility in our newest class! Tae Kwon Do is an Olympic sport that teaches self-defense, kicking and forms.

Beginner (ages 2 - 3): Wednesday, 6 - 6:30 p.m.
Beginner (ages 4 - 5): Wednesday, 6:30 - 7 p.m.
Beginner (ages 6 - 12): Wednesday, 5:15 - 6 p.m.
Beginner (ages 6 - 12): Saturday, 9 - 10 a.m.
Intermediate (ages 6 - 12): Monday, 5:15 - 6 p.m. (class held in the camp room; no class Monday, September 7)
Family Fitness: Saturday, 10 - 11 a.m.

Join our volleyball clinic to work on your basic skills. Serving, bumping, setting, spiking, and general game strategy will be covered.

Children’s fitness

Operation Healthy Kids is a program that combines both wellness and fitness activities. This program will help kids understand the importance of implementing wellness and fitness into their every day routines.

The program will focus on hands on activities that will explain the different dimensions of wellness. Along with education piece, participants will learn physical activities that will align with the lesson.

September 8 - October 29

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Ages 5 - 7: 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.
  • Ages 8 - 12: 6:15 - 7 p.m.

Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls ages 11 and older how to handle emergencies when caring for children.

This class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Upon completion of this class, the participant will receive a Safe Sitter manual and completion card. Please bring your lunch, drink and any snacks you will want that day. Class held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To register, call 317-920-7412 or stop by Kids Zone.
