Youth Programs

Youth sports camps and programsCommunity Healthplex Sports Club is dedicated to providing quality youth programs for all ages and abilities. Classes include tumbling, dance, seasonal sports, martial arts, kids fitness, Safe Sitter and more.

Pre-registration is required for all youth programs and special events. Participants may register for all programs in Kids Zone or contact Kids Zone at 317-920-7412.

Summer Camp

  • Half Day Preschool Camp (3-5 years) - Come join us as we focus on a different letter or number each day! Activities include swimming, crafts and games!
  • Full Day Youth Camp (6-12 years) - We offer weekly sports and enrichment themes to choose from! New themes this year include: Wipe Out!, Pinterest Projects, Sports 360 and Turning Trash Into Treasures.
  • Counselor in Training (13-15 years) - Is your school aged child growing out of camp? Join us to get hands-on work experience while getting certified in CPR, First Aid and Safe Sitter!

School's Out Camp (6 - 12 years)

Spend your break with the Healthplex! Children will get to have fun and be active during their break from school. They will participate in outside activities weather permitting - all types of sports, tennis, crafts, swimming and much more!

Price includes lunch on Fridays and snack daily! An additional $5 fee will be applied to those who do not pre-register by Friday prior to the week of camp. For more information, call Paige Southerland at 317-920-7412.

Camper attire: Campers should come dressed to participate in a variety of activities and events. Campers are requested to wear athletic attire along with tennis shoes everyday. Shorts must be fingertip in length. Skorts may be worn, however skirts and jeans are unacceptable. Sandals, crocs, flip flops or dress shoes are NOT acceptable. Clothing should be comfortable and able to get dirty.

What to bring to camp....

  • Sack lunch
  • Pizza Party Fridays are an opportunity for campers to leave their sack lunch at home and have an individual pizza, chips and a drink from the Courtside Café. This is included in the weekly price of camp.
  • Swim suit and goggles
  • Flotation device if your child can not swim. If flotation is not provided your child will NOT be able to swim that day. NO flotation will be provided by the Community Healthplex Sports Club.
  • Sandals or flip-flops for the locker room
  • Change of clothes
  • Water bottles
  • Tennis racquet (if available)

Parent's Day and Night Out (1 - 12 years)

Need a night out for just the grown ups? Leave your children at Community Healthplex where they will have a great time watching a movie, swimming in the pool, playing games and much more.

Every child will also be served pizza for dinner! Registration and payment is required by the Thursday before each Parent’s Night Out. An additional $5 fee will be applied to those who do not pre-register.

Member: First child $15; Each additional $12
Guest: First child $20; Each additional $17

Come join us for brunch and participate in our Easter Egg Hunt! It’s a great event for the whole family. This event will also include egg coloring and arts and crafts. Pre-registration is required for this event.

Kooking Kids (3 - 6 years)

Join us while we get creative in the kitchen. We will use simple recipes that your little ones will love. We will also learn ways to help in the kitchen!

Tumbling

Tumbling class for childrenLooking for a class to take along with your child? This motor learning class will enhance your child’s social, physical, gross motor and cognitive development through self-discovery and interaction with new friends, songs and games! It will also strengthen the parent-child bond by developing healthy attachment practices and self-confidence.

Tumble and turn in this high energy beginning tumbling class. Kids will learn basic tumbling and gross motor skills as well as work on balance and flexibility. There must be a minimum of 3 participants to run each class.

Dance

Do your children love the music and dances of the Disney movies? This dance class is for them to come learn the moves to some of the most popular Disney songs. Feel free to come to class dressed in your favorite character!

Join our jazz class to improve your child's coordination, posture and flexibility with a special emphasis on confidence. Skills such as extension work, leaps and turns are incorporated into routines that will challenge each dancer. Must be a minimum of 3 participants to run each class.

Sports programs

Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-6 years old. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun, non-threatening environment. This program will prepare children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Ages appropriate equipment is used in teaching throwing, catching, batting, running and agility.

Join our non-competitive soccer clinics to enhance your child’s soccer technique. Children will have the opportunity to work on improving their soccer skills in a noncompetitive environment. Age-appropriate soccer equipment is used to teach kicking, dribbling, trapping, throw-ins, and agility.

Join our youth basketball clinic to improve your child's basketball skills! Work on skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, team work and much more! Game strategy and technique will also be covered.

Join our newest class to learn sports of all sorts! Our sports camp is full of a variety of sports to appeal to every child. Children’s fitness

Coming in to workout and aren't sure what to do with the kids? Put them in Fit Kids so they can have fun and workout while you are working out! Fit Kids is designed for children ages 6-12. This program will introduce kids to a variety of activities including, but not limited to, sports, cardio training and core strength training. Fit Kids is an ongoing program that you may start at any time.

Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls ages 11 and older how to handle emergencies when caring for children.

This class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Classes include child and infant CPR training. Upon completion of this class, the participant will receive a Safe Sitter manual and completion card. Please bring your lunch, drink and any snacks you will want that day.
