Personal cycling training
Personal cycling training is now available at the Healthplex. This is a one-on-one session with a cycle instructor who will work with you to personalize your sessions and help you reach your goals. They will work with you to put together a program just for you. Personal cycling training is great for beginners who want to learn proper set-up and form, as well as experienced cyclists who want to improve and refine their skills. Cycling is a great cardio workout and is designed to improve fitness and performance. Group fitness (land-based classes):
With over 50 free classes per week, there is a class for everyone. Our convenient class times make getting in shape fun and easy. We offer all of the most popular group fitness classes that you are sure to enjoy.
Arthritis: An Arthritis Foundation certified class using stretching, movement and light weight bearing exercises to assist with active daily living movements. This class can be done sitting or standing.
BODYPUMPTM: A rapid fat burning class that uses barbells to give you the fastest way to tone and condition muscles! After an exhaustive study, BODYPUMP was verified by the University of Auckland as providing the fastest body fat loss of any fitness class.
Body Strength: Challenge your muscles using hand held weights, balls and body weight. This 30-minute high energy class combines movement with stationary weight work.
Cycle/Core: This class combines the high energy of indoor cycling and the core focused class of hard core abs. With 45 minutes of cycling and 15 minutes of core work, this is a workout you can’t miss.
Fit/50: Fit Over 50 is a class similar to “Seniorcize” but more advanced. Designed specifically for the active adult over 50 years of age, this class combines exciting dance choreography with toning and stretching for an all around great workout.
Group Sports: Learn how to effectively cross train for your favorite sport and play the game during class. Each month will focus on a different sport to train and scrimmage.
Hard-Core: Strengthen your core and learn the benefits of core training with this unique abdominals routine. A strong core will allow you to keep optimal body alignment for whatever activities you want to participate in.
Indoor Cycling: This high-energy indoor cycling program for all levels is designed to improve fitness and performance.
Interval Training: This high-intensity class is jam packed full of agility and strength drills. If you want to increase your speed and endurance or you just want to increase your overall health, this class is for you! Classes are broken down into cardio, strength and combo classes. Choose the one that best suits your needs.
Mat Pilates: Mat Pilates class focuses on the classical repertoire of the Joseph Pilates principles. Participants will benefit from core and stability training with enhanced breathing techniques. All fitness levels can benefit from this class.
PILOXING®: Uniquely blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. It is a fat-torching, muscle-sculpting, core-centric interval workout, guaranteed to whip you into shape.
R.I.P.P.E.D.: Total body workout, utilizing resistance and cardio training, which combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance and Diet components to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and effective.
Senior 30/30: This balanced workout of 30 minutes of strength and 30 minutes of core work and stretching will leave you feeling energized.
Seniorcize: This is a fun class designed specifically for seniors with easy-to-follow dance routines, low-impact floor work, light resistance training and abdominal exercises for a complete body workout.
Step Aerobics: Power movements and hot choreography provide a cardio class that will increase your endurance and your health.
Tabata Strength: Tabata training principles will be applied for a whole body—whole effort—workout with intervals only as hard as you want to make them. An exercise journal is recommended to show growth towards your workout goals.
Turbo Kick™: A cardio kickboxing class. It is a fusion of hip hop and kickboxing. The turbo portion is an anaerobic section where the music is much faster. Good interval workout!
Ultimate Stretch: Stretching promotes muscular balance, reduces tension, increases range of motion and helps prevent injury.
Yogilates: This class blends the breath work, core stability, toning, stretching, strengthening and body-mind awareness aspects of yoga and mat Pilates into one class.
Zumba™: Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be fun and easy.
Zumba Gold: This class takes the original Zumba class and makes it accessible for seniors, beginners or others who need modifications in their exercise routine. The class will build cardiovascular health and works muscles of the hips, legs and arms with Latin-dance inspired moves.
Zumba Step:Take lower body workouts and calorie burning to new heights with Zumba® Step, the newest Zumba® program. Tone and strengthen glutes and legs with a gravity-defying blend of Zumba routines and step aerobics. Bring your students maximum results without losing the easy-to-follow fitness party!
