Alcohol and Your Health
Recent studies suggest that alcohol in moderation can reduce your risk of heart disease and high cholesterol. But before prescribing an extra cocktail for health, let’s look at the pros and cons of alcohol consumption.
Place your hand on your chest. Breathe so that you feel your chest moving in and out against your hand. This is chest breathing, a shallow form of breathing that often occurs as a response to stress. Rapid chest breathing quickly gets oxygen to the muscles so you can fight or run away from whatever is stressing you. Heart rate and blood pressure go up and you feel anxious.
Living Without Violence in Your Life
Violence against women is never justified and is always wrong. It affects not only women of all ages and racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds, but children, families, and friends of the victims.
Are You Stressed?
Stress is an unavoidable part of modern life. Your feelings of stress depend not so much on the amount of stress in your life, but on how you react to it.
