Flu visitor restrictions
Starting Monday, December 15, due to increased flu activity in Marion County, the following temporary visitor restrictions will be implemented at Community Hospital North:
- No visitors with flu-like illness, fever or cough
- No visitors under age 18
- No visitors other than patient’s immediate family, partner, significant other or spiritual counselor

Adults and children may visit. All visitors must be free of exposure to chicken pox or other communicable diseases and free of fever. Hospitals are full of patients fighting germs. Small children and individuals who have poor immune systems should beware. Visiting children must have adult supervision at all times.
Open visiting with the exception of 7 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Only two visitors allowed in the room at a time.
- Inpatient Surgical Care
Restricted visiting. Guests must obtain a security code from the person they are visiting in order to be admitted to the unit. Visiting hours are between 1 and 8 p.m.
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
All visitors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian of the patient. Visitation is limited to four visitors at a time. Visits may be restricted for short periods, as patient needs demand. All visiting children under 14 years of age must stop at the nurses’ station and undergo a brief health screening and temperature check before they enter the patient's room.
Open visiting. One parent or parent substitute (18 years or older) may spend the night with the child.

There are two ATM locations for your convenience:
- In the gallery, by the entrances to Starbucks and FigLeaf Boutique
- Just outside the east entrance of the cafeteria
Café and refreshments
Community gift cards are accepted at all Community Health Network retail locations. Vending machines are available 24 hours a day in the ER lobby and across from Starbucks in the main lobby (gallery).
The café is located north of the hospital's emergency department. The café serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night. Bamboo offers daily specials and food options for all tastes, including grill, pizza, sandwiches/wraps, salad bar, sauté station, daily soups, fountain drinks, and assorted to-go items, such as bottled drinks, fruit, sandwiches, yogurt, desserts, salads, snacks and more.
Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Sat/Sun 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Located in the main lobby of the Community Surgery Center on the campus of Community Hospital North. Bamboo Too serves breakfast and lunch, and carries many of the same items available at Bamboo Café. The breakfast menu features pastries, bagels and fruit, as well as a daily hot breakfast special. Lunch features sandwiches, tossed-to-order salads, soups and a daily special. Starbucks coffee is brewed, and a full line of beverages is available.

The Starbucks coffee shop in the gallery offers a complete menu of hot and cold beverages along with the food and gift items you're accustomed to finding at Starbucks.

Jasmine Gift Shop is located in the entrance gallery and staffed by volunteers. Jasmine carries specialty items, including original artwork, designer fragrances and cosmetics and fresh flowers from Palmer-Kelley Designs. Jasmine has an expanded food and beverage area plus all the old favorites, such as candy, magazines and personal care products. Jasmine’s new open, airy and customer-friendly space is 1,300 square feet, three times bigger than the previous location.

FigLeaf Boutique, located in the entrance gallery, is a women’s health and specialty boutique providing services and products to women undergoing breast cancer treatment and new and expectant mothers. Each boutique has certified fitters who can assist with mastectomy bras and prosthesis fittings and also carry a vast array of cancer treatment products such as wigs, hats and scarves, skin care and pink ribbon merchandise. New and expectant moms can make FigLeaf their one-stop shop for all their nursing and infants needs as well as being professionally fit for nursing bras.

Cell phone policy
Cell phones are allowed in all areas except for patient treatment areas because their signal could interfere with medical equipment in use.
The hospital and the entire Community Hospital North campus are tobacco-free environments.
Smoking has been shown not only to compromise the health of those who smoke, but others who come into contact with the smoke. Therefore, in keeping with our mission to promote the health, wellness and comfort of our patients and employees, smoking is not permitted.
Pastoral care services

Community Hospital North's pastoral relations department is committed to providing support services to patients, families and hospital staff, with respect to their own needs and traditions. Professionally trained chaplains are available on an individual basis to assist with pastoral/spiritual care and counseling needs. They also strive to connect individuals who desire pastoral care and other spiritual or religious interventions with their own faith leaders, rites and traditions.
To access pastoral care services, call the chaplain's office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 317-621-5282. Chaplains are on-call for emergencies at all other times, including on holidays.
