New hospital. New name. Same dedication to changing lives.
Hook Rehabilitation Center has earned a reputation for excellence ever since opening its doors at Community Hospital East in 1974. Over the years, its innovative rehabilitation program grew to become one of the most respected and comprehensive neurobehavioral continuum of care programs in the Midwest.
To expand our program, we are relocating to the Community Hospital North medical campus. Our new inpatient facility, Community Rehabilitation Hospital, offers greater access and the latest equipment to improve the lives of individuals with a broad range of diagnoses. Built in partnership with Centerre Healthcare Corporation, a national leader in the development and operation of rehabilitation hospitals, the 63,000 square foot facility has 60 beds and serves as a Midwestern regional provider for patients with complex physical and neurological injuries.
“This custom-built building is going to enhance the outcomes we’ve already been able to drive,” Beebe said. “It’s a huge step forward for us, as a rehab team, to have the best tools in the area to provide these services.”
Providing the same great care
In the 1980s, Hook Rehabilitation Center became the first rehabilitation center in the country to develop a cognitive rehabilitation therapy program for neurological patients. That program, which complements its physical rehabilitation program, is still one of its cornerstone achievements.
“Community Rehabilitation Hospital patients will receive the same innovative rehabilitation services that’s synonymous with the Hook Rehabilitation Center name,” said Allison Williams, M.D., medical director, Community Rehabilitation Hospital.
Hook Rehabilitation Center’s brain injury and stroke rehabilitation programs for both adolescents and adults were recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation (CARF), and in 2011 the facility earned top honors from CARF for achieving the highest level of care. These great programs will be enhanced by an environment designed specifically for rehabilitation.
All programs, including the popular Hook Athletic Program, will continue at Community Rehabilitation Hospital. And they’ll be led by the same, dedicated, well-trained staff that was behind Hook Rehabilitation Center’s exceptional outcomes.
