Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Pharmacy ResidencyAs a resident at Community Health Network, you are closely affiliated with Butler University. Residents are considered to be Adjunct Assistant Professors at Butler. The residents participate in weekly case discussion at Butler and have the opportunity to help facilitate oral presentations, tests, debates and other projects. Each resident, paired with a faculty mentor, leads a small group of professional year students during the fall and spring semesters. Below is a brief overview of the responsibilities of the resident. Resident responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly case conference.
  • Case conference is an evidence-based review of a patient case.
  • The resident precepts and facilitates the group-based discussions with the students.
  • Participate in facilitating and grading of oral presentation, tests and projects.
  • Have the opportunity to take part in test and objective writing workshops as well as develop objectives and test questions.
  • Develop and present a one- to two-hour lecture, if desired.
  • Optionally, work for a teaching certificate and develop a teaching portfolio.
