What is a parish nurse?

• Health advocate
• Health educator
• Personal health counselor
• Referral agent
• Facilitator of volunteers
• Developer of support groups

Parish nurse course sponsorship

The Community Health Network Foundation sponsors nurses who wish to take the parish nursing course at the University of Indianapolis. If you are approved and accepted into the course, the Community Health Network Foundation will cover 100% of course fees for contact hours. Credit for the course can be applied to B.S.N. or M.S.N. degree work.

Qualifications for sponsorship include:

• R.N. with at least three years of experience
• Employee or retiree of Community Health Network
• Partnership with a faith community that is supportive of the parish nurse program
• Spiritually mature
