The History of Community Hospital North
1983
1985
- Community Hospital North with 100-bed acute care inpatient capacity, emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery and support services opened as the second hospital in Community Health Network.
- 125-bed Psychiatric Pavilion opened on North Campus (moved from Community Hospital East).
- 7250 Clearvista Dr. professional building opened.
1987
- Family rooms opened, Indianapolis’ first single room maternity care, or LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum) rooms with normal and special care nursery.
- 8180 Clearvista Pkwy. professional building opened.
1989
- 8103 Clearvista Dr. professional building opened.
- 8101 Clearvista Dr. professional building opened.

1994
- Community Hospital North expansion opened:
- 19 single-room maternity family suites.
- 24-bed intensive care/progressive care unit.
- Expansion of two large surgical suites plus expanded preop/recovery area.
- Imaging expansion with permanent CT, MRI, SPECT, and upgraded ultrasound and general x-ray.
1997
1998
- 11 additional single-room maternity family suites opened.
- Assisted Fertility Services with success rates that exceed national norms opened.
1999
- 15-bed neonatal intensive care unit staffed on-site, around-the-clock with Riley Hospital neonatologists opened.
- Sleep/Wake Disorders Center, with four suites, opened.

- Expanded imaging services with additional CT, MRI and ultrasound capabilities.
- Increased neonatal intensive care beds to 19.
- Community Health Pavilion at 119th St. and Meridian St. in Carmel opened.

- Endoscopy unit opened in August.
- "Topping Out" ceremony held for campus expansion on December 20.
2006
- New physician lounge and HIM area opened in February.
- Four new Operating Rooms opened in expanded surgery area in April.
- Pediatric unit designed for kids and parents opened December.
