Indianapolis, IN---The Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation has awarded Community Health Network Foundation an $839,400 grant to provide health services in 15 Indianapolis charter schools and expand Community Health Network’s strong commitment to school-based healthcare.
The funding allows Community to place nurses, therapists and other caregivers in school-based clinics to address the primary health needs of the students. The grant also allows Community to conduct health assessments for the communities surrounding each of the schools. Results of those assessments will drive action plans to improve the health of the students’ communities.
Starting this fall, Community will provide a mix of primary care and behavioral care, sports medicine and health and wellness education to the following elementary, junior high and high school charter schools:
The grant also encourages partnerships with area community service providers, and these organizations will partner with Community:
