KC and the Sunshine Band to headline Community Health Network Foundation cancer fundraiser

For release on October 30, 2013
Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network Foundation officials today announced KC and the Sunshine Band will headline its premier cancer fundraising event, The Giving Gig, scheduled for February 15, 2014 at the downtown Indianapolis Marriott hotel.

Known for classics “Get Down Tonight,” “Shake Your Booty,” and “That’s the Way (I Like It),” the band and an entourage of dancers will perform many hits that defined the 1970s. The performance will highlight an evening of giving, and all proceeds will benefit Community’s cancer patients and their families.

Joyce Irwin, Community Health Network Foundation’s president and CEO, said the fundraiser will bring 820 donors together to raise financial support for Community’s cancer programs, while also celebrating survivors and paying tribute to patients lost in the fight against cancer.

“Our second annual event will raise funds needed to help our cancer patients, and their families, manage every day needs while fighting the strongest fight possible,” Irwin said. “Our donors and sponsors will fund needs ranging from assistance with meals and transportation, to co-pays and medications. It’s all about helping ordinary people during extraordinary times, and having fun along the way.”

Tables accommodating 10 guests are currently available for $2,500 each. The cost includes access to a cocktail reception and silent auction, a four-course gourmet dinner, a live auction and dancing. Reservations can be made at www.eCommunity.com/GivingGig or by calling (317) 355-GIVE.

The Giving Gig 2014 is presented by BMO Harris Bank, Alderson Commercial Group, Roche and AxiomPort.
