For release on October 21, 2013

Indianapolis, IN---Scott L. Teffeteller,a successful healthcare professional with more than 20 years of industry experience, has been named president of Community Health Network’s East Region, effective October 21.  As president, he will be responsible for all Community services in the east region, including Community Hospital East, the region’s physician practices and ambulatory sites of care across the area. Teffeteller was previously president and CEO of Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

“As Community Health Network continues to deal with significant industry changes, we were searching for a seasoned professional who can work in a difficult environment and find ways to succeed,” said Tom Fischer, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Community Health Network.  “We found the right person in Scott.  He has done remarkable work at Union Hospital and we’re honored to welcome him to our team.  He is also one more key piece of the organizational realignment we began earlier this year, aligning the many parts of our delivery system to focus on exceptional care, simply delivered.”

At Union Hospital, the largest not-for-profit provider between Indianapolis and St. Louis, Teffeteller led the organization to significant gains in core quality measures, physician satisfaction, operating revenue and net income.  Union Hospital has also been recognized multiple times among the Best Places to Work in Indiana and was named Best Places to Work by Modern Healthcare.

Before being named president and CEO of Union, Teffeteller served there as executive vice-president and chief operating officer.  For two years prior, he was the chief operating officer at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, a part of HCA Healthcare Corp.
