Community Regional Cancer Center-North extends office hours

For release on February 21, 2013

Indianapolis, IN---Community Regional Cancer Center-North (CRCC-North), located on the Community Hospital North campus, announced new hours to better meet the needs of patients. This move will allow patients more flexibility when scheduling appointments and improve access to Oncology/Hematology services. New hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Sumeet Bhatia, M.D., who is board certified in oncology, hematology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, said the change in hours is really a matter of patient convenience. “Our new evening hours will allow patients to receive treatment without having to miss a lot of work.” According to Bhatia, the center is also looking at adding weekend hours. “Accessibility is the right step in putting our patients first,” Bhatia said.

CRCC is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and offers expertise across the entire family of cancer therapies, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, biotherapy and surgical treatment.

The change in hours follows the announcement by Community Health Network officials concerning the collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Network™, a program of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This collaboration provides certified physicians at Community North access to evidence-based guidelines, treatment plans and concordance studies developed by the experts at MD Anderson.
