New access and options in healthcare begin today in Speedway; Community Westview Health Pavilion opens its doors January 21

For release on January 21, 2013

Indianapolis, IN---Speedway’s latest redevelopment prize goes on display today as Community Health Network opens the new Community Westview Health Pavilion, a 40,000 square-foot healthcare facility, located at 1011 Main Street in downtown Speedway. The new pavilion increases access to healthcare for local residents and employers and provides new options for the latest in innovative treatments. Besides primary care, imaging, infusion therapy, MedCheck walk-in care and occupational health services, the Community Westview Heath Pavilion will provide a place to engage west side residents for improving their health and well-being.

“As we expand our footprint into west Central Indiana we wanted to start with Speedway, “ said Jon Fohrer, CEO of Community Health Network’s ambulatory services. “Speedway’s commitment to redevelopment matches our commitment to provide excellent, convenient medical care. The pavilion will increase access to medical care for Speedway residents, while introducing them to the mission and values of Community Health Network.”

The pavilion is home to Speedway Family Physicians, Speedway Pediatrics, and outpatient occupational rehabilitation. Another major component of the new pavilion is Community Westview Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program, in partnership with nearby Marian University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Due to the size of the facility, medical education opportunities will be expanded, providing new doctors with the skills they need to serve local residents with the most up-to-date advancements in osteopathic medicine.

In addition, Community Health Network had the residents of Speedway in mind when designing the pavilion, as more than 4,000 square feet is devoted to an area for health fairs, patient education classes and event space for business-related activities.

As the need for healthcare services in west Central Indiana grows, Community has 8,000 additional square feet in the pavilion to expand healthcare offerings.

“At Community Westview, we are proud of our relationship with Speedway residents, and we are excited about growing our presence on the west side through this tremendous facility,” said Jon P. Anderson, president and CEO of Community Westview Hospital. “Community Health Network employees want the residents of west Central Indiana to understand their philosophy of bringing exceptional care, simply delivered to what they do every day.”
