Paige Dooley MSN, MBA, R.N., NE-BC, named vice president of nursing at Community Hospital East

For release: 11/3/2009

Indianapolis, IN---Paige Dooley, R.N., has been named vice president of nursing at Community Hospital East, effective November 16, 2009.  She succeeds Mary Browning, R.N., who is now vice president of nursing for the ambulatory division of the network. Melodi Bauer, R.N., held the nursing vice presidency in an interim capacity since April 2008.

“Paige has been a nursing leader in our network for more than 24 years,” said Jan Bingle, R.N., chief nursing officer for Community Health Network. “Through her inspirational leadership, she has developed numerous clinical programs, led multiple process improvements in clinical care, and has a profound knowledge of professional nursing practice, its outcomes and requirements.”  Bingle went on to say, “Her experience will serve her well as she leads nursing at Community East through this period of health care reform.”

Dooley has worked at Community Health Network since 1985, when she started her nursing career as a medical-surgical nurse at Community Hospital East. She held various nursing roles throughout the network until 2003, when she moved into nursing administration. Most recently, Dooley served as a professional practice consultant for the network, evaluating and implementing systems to improve standards of care, practice and performance.

Dooley received an associate’s degree in nursing at the University of Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from BallStateUniversity. She has a master of science in nursing and a master of business administration from AndersonUniversity. Dooley is president of the Anderson University School of Nursing chapter of the Alumni Association and is a member of the Indiana State Nurses Association, Society for Nursing Excellence, and Sigma Theta Tau international nursing honor society.

“I am so thrilled to have Paige join our hospital leadership team,” said Robin Ledyard, M.D., president of Community Hospital East. “Her vision, energy and skill will help move Community East into the future.”

Dooley, her husband, Steve, and daughter, Maggie, live in rural Pendleton. They are active members of HuntsvilleGoodShepherdChurch.  Additionally, they are involved in Southeastern Swim Club, Madison County Odds and Ends 4-H Club, and Pendleton Youth Basketball Association.  Dooley supports the community serving on the South Madison Community Schools (SMCS) Parent Advisory Board and Anderson University MSN-MBA Advisory Board.  She co-leads Girl Scout Troop #332 in Pendleton.  She has volunteered at local health screenings and vaccination clinics, and is a substitute nurse for SMCS.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and neighbors, boating and water skiing, swimming, fishing and gardening.
