Community Heart and Vascular welcomes Suresh A. Koneswaran, M.D.

Indianapolis, IN---Cardiologist Suresh A. Koneswaran, M.D., has joined Community Heart and Vascular, part of Community Health Network.  Specializing in invasive cardiology, Dr. Koneswaran previously practiced and performed research at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Koneswaran attended WheatonCollege (Wheaton, IL), earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and a minor in biology.  He received his medical degree from KasturbaMedicalCollege (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) in India and served his residency in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota.  He was chief medical resident for the University of Minnesota at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and was awarded a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine from the University of Toledo.  Dr. Koneswaran recently received a 2009 Fellowship grant from Cardiovascular Research Technologies in Washington, D.C.

He is board-certified in internal medicine and board eligible in cardiovascular medicine.  Dr. Koneswaran has also earned certifications from the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). He is a member of the AmericanCollege of Cardiology (ACC) and the AmericanCollege of Physicians (ACP). His clinical research has been published in the American Heart Journal and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Koneswaran will serve patients on the campuses of Community Hospital South, Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, and Morgan Hospital and Medical Center in Martinsville.
