Community Health Network honored as one of 2009’s Healthiest Employers of Indiana

Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network has been recognized as one of the 2009 Healthiest Employers of Indiana, an awards program presented by the Indianapolis Business Journal and Mavum Consulting. 

Five employers from Indiana were honored as winners of the inaugural awards program, held in Indianapolis in September.

Healthiest Employers is an innovative awards program that recognizes organizations that proactively shape the health of their employees.  These companies have made a commitment to impact the health of their workplace—and their bottom line.

The winning employers ranged in size from 2-99 employees, up to 5,000+ employees.

Community Health Network was among five honored companies in 2009.

“Community Health Network has provided worksite wellness to employees since the early 80s,” said Chris Dobbins, executive director, health promotion services.  “I know of no other employer that has had the investment, senior leader support and commitment to provide health promotion education and intervention programs to employees.”

Community’s health promotion services offer multiple programs aimed at improving the health of its employees, including personal wellness coaching; interactive online health resources; employee fitness facilities; Bridges to Health Diabetes Care Program; Bridges to Health Asthma Care Program; and Bridges to Weight Management. These programs allow employees to utilize educational classes, one-on-one visits with pharmacy personnel and individualized self-care assessments and plans that offer tools to achieve improved health.
