Tom Malasto
CEO, Community Heart and Vascular
Tom Malasto was named the first chief executive officer for Community Heart and Vascular in January of 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Malasto served as the CEO and president of The Indiana Heart Hospital from April 2006 to January 2009.
His past experiences include serving as the executive director of the St. Francis Heart Center from 2002 - 2006. Additional work history includes a consulting position with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Indianapolis (2000-2002) and director/chief operating officer and chief compliance officer with The Care Group, LLC, in Indianapolis (1993-2001). Mr. Malasto began his career with Ernst & Young in Indianapolis.
He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and received his CPA designation in 1989. Mr. Malasto’s professional affiliations include the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators, Healthcare Financial Management Association and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Malasto also serves on the American Heart Association’s Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Directors.
