Clif Knight, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Clif KnightClif Knight, M.D., was named chief medical officer of Community Health Network in October 2009. He had previously served as vice president of medical affairs for Community Hospital North and Community Hospital East. Before assuming that role in 2007, he was director of Community’s family medicine residency program. He was a resident in the program in 1987, then practiced family medicine in Flora, Indiana, before returning to Community to be a clinical director of the family medicine residency in 1992. He became a co-director in 1997, and the program director in 2001. His peers honored him as the Family Medicine Teacher of the Year in 2004.

Dr. Knight is a past president of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians and is currently active with its foundation board. He has also served on the Commission on Membership and Member Services for the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was part of a delegation to Vietnam, sponsored by Physicians with Heart, to teach about family medicine. He has served on numerous hospital committees, including the Indiana Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

Dr. Knight and his wife, Shelly, have three children and reside in McCordsville, Indiana. In his spare time, Dr. Knight enjoys bird watching, golfing, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.
