MedCheck Express

It is one more way Community Health Network is helping you stay on top of your medical care. What’s more, MedCheck Express is part of a health care network. That means your MedCheck Express visit is integrated with the rest of your health picture, keeping your Community physician aware of your visit via our electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Next time a common ailment slows someone in your family down, visit MedCheck Express to receive treatment for a variety of everyday illnesses, from ear infections to chest congestion. MedCheck Express clinics are conveniently located inside select Wal-Mart Supercenters, so you and your family* can take care of life's necessities with one trip. You simply check in and take a beeper; the family nurse practitioner will page you when it's time for your visit!

*Children must be 2 years old and older.

What to expect

A visit to MedCheck Express is quick. No appointment is needed and most visits are under 30 minutes.

Your care is provided by a family nurse practitioner who can diagnose and treat most common illnesses and can also prescribe the appropriate medications. Prescriptions can be filled at any pharmacy, including the Wal-Mart pharmacy or Wellspring Pharmacy at Community Health Network.

What is a family nurse practitioner?

A family nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed a graduate education program in nursing and has achieved further certification by a professional nursing organization.

Family nurse practitioners provide a wide variety of health services, from taking health histories to performing physical examinations and diagnosing/treating common health problems. They can also order appropriate laboratory tests and prescribe any required medications.

Insurance

MedCheck Express accepts most insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare.

Patients 18 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. MedCheck Express services are intended for patients at least 2 years old.

MedCheck Express is not intended to treat serious conditions that require specialized care. If you are experience chest pain, difficulty breathing or any other serious problems, call 911 or get to the nearest emergency room.
