MedCheck's change to walk-in clinics; Community Health Network reduces fees to better serve patient needs

In these economic times where cutting back is part of planning the household budget, Community Health Network is working to keep urgent and routine health care costs to a minimum. That is why Community’s MedCheck urgent care clinics are now walk-in clinics. The new model maintains all of the services patients are used to receiving at an urgent care facility, but now at a reduced price. As a walk-in care facility, the visit fee is reduced from that of an urgent care co-pay, which is typically in-between the cost of a visit to a physician’s office and an emergency room visit, to that of a physician office co-pay.

“Patients still receive the same excellent care but only pay for the physician office visit co-pay, rather than an urgent care fee, which is typically more,” says Linda Erwin, MedCheck clinical director. MedCheck is a participating provider in many insurance plans. Cash, check and credit cards are also accepted and fees are the same as those of a physician office visit.
