In 2013, Community's comprehensive neurobehavioral rehabiliation program expanded and relocated to the Community Hospital North medical campus. The new inpatient facility, Community Rehabilitation Hospital, offers superior access and the latest equipment to improve the lives of individuals with a broad range of diagnoses.
The custom-built building enhances patient outcomes and provides the rehab team with access to the best tools in the area to provide these services.
Built in partnership with Centerre Healthcare Corporation, a national leader in the development and operation of rehabilitation hospitals, the 63,000 square foot facility has 60 beds and serves as a Midwestern regional provider for patients with complex physical and neurological injuries.
Providing the same great care
In the 1980s, Hook Rehabilitation Center became the first rehabilitation center in the country to develop a cognitive rehabilitation therapy program for neurological patients. Now housed at Community Rehabilitation Hospital, that program is still a cornerstone achievement, further complemented by the physical rehabilitation program.
Our brain injury and stroke rehabilitation programs for both adolescents and adults were recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation (CARF). In 2011, the facility earned another 3-year accreditation from CARF, a top honor for achieving the highest level of care. These great programs are enhanced by an environment designed specifically for rehabilitation.
