Nutrition assessments help participants determine how to make healthier food choices, cut out excess fats, improve their personal diet, and calculate how many calories to consume. The assessment is administered by a registered dietitian and assesses an individual’s current habits. The dietitian helps the individual set goals for healthier eating based on areas that need improvement.
A registered dietitian or a health promotion specialist provide individualized nutrition consultation and education.
Walk Your Way to Wellness – 10,000 Steps a Day
This program encourages participants to gain a better understanding of the distance they walk at the onset of the program, and increase their level of activity to 10,000 steps a day. Inactive people typically take 2,000-4,000 steps per day. By increasing daily activity to 10,000 steps, participants are actually walking an average of 3-5 miles. All participants receive a pedometer and a log book.

The average person gains 7 pounds during the holiday season and then finds it hard to shed extra pounds. Program includes an initial weigh-in to establish a base weight, and a final weigh-out at the close of the program. Participants receive log books, educational materials and a healthy recipe book.

Personal wellness coaching
A confidential, telephonic coaching program for employees with multiple risk factors. Employees are identified through the health screening and assessment results. Coaches contact participants at least 6 times per year to provide education, resources, motivation and direction for making healthy lifestyle changes. Coaches help participants establish a plan and set realistic goals to reduce or eliminate risk factors related to weight, smoking, cholesterol, blood pressure, nutrition, exercise and so on. Based on the actual outcomes of our clients, an estimated 46% of participants’ risk factors are eliminated or improved with our coaching program (with health screening/assessment) in one year.
