Accreditation information

NAPBC logoCommunity Breast Care, the integrated breast health center at Community Health Network in Indianapolis, is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. This distinction was the first for a comprehensive health network in the state of Indiana. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

"Community Breast Care is committed to providing comprehensive and conveniently accessible care for any patients in need of medical treatment,” said Bryan Mills, president and CEO of Community Health Network. “Accreditation by the NAPBC is verification of our consistent dedication to the delivery of quality and compassionate care.”

During the survey process, the center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease. Community Breast Care earned this national accreditation by providing patients with a multidisciplinary team-approach to coordinate the best treatment options, a complete range of state-of-the-art services and equipment, information about clinical trials and new treatment options and access to prevention and early detection programs, cancer education and support services.

Why should you choose an accredited breast care program?

An accredited breast care center, such as Community Breast Care, is one that has been voluntarily recognized as a leading organization for its quality of care to patients. An accredited center is evaluated every three years to ensure it is continuing to meet or exceed high quality standards and levels of excellence. When you visit a NAPBC accredited breast center you are assured of many benefits, including access to board-certified breast surgeons and radiologists, certified radiology equipment, certified breast diagnostic technicians, breast health navigators and more.

The NAPBC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to the improvement of the quality of care and monitoring of outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast. This mission is pursued through standard-setting, scientific validation, and patient and professional education.
