Memberships and membership cancellation/hold policy
Members paying their dues electronically must give a 10-day notice prior to the month they wish to cancel their membership. Memberships will not be cancelled or placed on hold for any reason not stated in the membership agreement with the following exception: Members leaving town for extended periods (more than a month) may be granted a freeze of their membership fees during their absence with prior authorization from management. Members under the age of 17 will not be allowed to use the facility after 9 p.m. unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A family add-on must be a spouse or dependent child living in the same domicile, older than 13 years and less than 23 years of age. Three generations may not be included on one Family Membership. We recognize there may be some special considerations that may be treated as an exception to the above. Those exceptions are defined in writing and located in the office. Persons holding a purchased day pass are not considered members.
Dues are payable on the first day of each month. Membership dues not paid by the 5th of the month shall be posted on KCS’s delinquent list and the member’s account shall be assessed a penalty charge of $15.00. The penalty charge shall continue to accrue for each month the membership dues remain delinquent. In the event of non-payment of any amount due from the member agreement, KSC, after (90) days, shall terminate the membership and the entire remaining balance of the annual membership fees shall become due and payable in full. In addition KSC, may, at its option, use all legal remedies to recover any unpaid membership dues, service charges, legal fees and court costs.
If a check or electronic transaction is returned to KSC because it was written or drafted on a closed bank account or a bank account with insufficient funds, a $15.00 service fee will be owed and added to the amount for which the check was written or for the amount of the failed electronic transaction and the entire amount must be paid KSC before the debt is removed.
Youths under 18 years of age must have their parent or legal guardian sign all documents including waivers and memberships. These documents must be signed at KSC in the presence of KSC staff. Youths under 16 years of age may not buy day passes unless accompanied by a parent or adult over 18 years of age. Youth members under the age of 17 are not allowed in the facility after 9 p.m., unless they are accompanied by a parent. Youth members 17 years of age are not allowed in the facility after 10:00 pm, unless accompanied by a parent. Adults members 18 years of age or older may use the facility at any time.
Key tags will be issued to every member and must be scanned, by the member, at the front desk upon entering the facility. If key tag is lost or stolen, please notify KSC immediately. Lost or stolen key tags will be replaced at a cost of $2.00. A valid ID card must be presented upon request.
KSC Guest Privileges
- Guests may use the facility on a pre-approved "free" one week pass. Free passes will only be issued once to each guest.
- Guest passes may be purchased for $12/day (in state) or $6/day for out-of-state.
- Every guest will be required to complete an injury waiver form and must have a current photo ID with date of birth and produce it upon request.
- Members may arrange to receive a guest pass for potential members between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday. and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
- Members are responsible for the conduct of their guest. Misconduct will result in termination of guest privileges.
Youth Guest Privileges
- Guests under the age of 18 years old are not allowed to use the facility, unless accompanied by a member, and have a pass issued by management.
- Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian come into the sports center to sign the injury waiver form. PARENTAL TELEPHONE CALLS OR NOTES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
- MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE GUEST PRIVILEGES AT ITS DISCRETION.
Court Reservations and Cancellations
Racquetball courts may be reserved up to seven days in advance. When making reservations, members must give both their name and their partner's name. Courts can be reserved for one-hour periods, only. Reservations can be made starting on the hour, or on the half-hour. Players can continue to play past the hour limit if no one has the court reserved. If it is necessary to cancel a court reservation, please notify us as soon as possible.
All players are recommended to wear eye protection inside the court. All racquetball rackets must be regulation style with wrist strap. All metal racquets must have protective bumpers. Wooden racquets are not permitted. Shoes must not leave marks on courts.
Hanging on the rim, throwing balls at the ceiling or walls, gambling, profanity or fighting are not permitted and may result in suspended or terminated privileges. "Street shoes" are not allowed. If your gym shoes have been worn outside, they are street shoes. The game must be played between the painted side and end game lines. Shoes must not leave marks on the court. Beverages, other than water, are not allowed. All gym bags, extraneous clothing, outerwear, etcetera must be kept in the locker rooms. Children in babysitting must be picked up at the end of scheduled baby-sitting times.
Women's Fitness Area
Male members and guests are NOT allowed in the women's fitness area unless they are on a tour of the facility and accompanied by a KSC employee. The presence of men working on a maintenance issue in the women's fitness area will be strictly limited to necessity.
A KSC fitness instructor is available to assist each new member through a workout program during an appointment. It takes approximately 3 appointments to sufficiently learn your exercise program. A fitness assessment is recommended before beginning a program. Youths between the ages of 13-18 are required to have a PAR-Q form completed by their parent before starting a workout program. Youths under the age of 16 are required to go through (3) workouts with a fitness instructor. All gym bags, extraneous clothing, outerwear, etcetera must be kept in the locker rooms. These items are trip hazards when left lying around the fitness area floor.
During the summer months, the pool is open from Dawn to Dusk daily. It is an outdoor, heated lap pool. Individuals must shower with soap and thoroughly rinse before entering the pool. Diving is not allowed. Persons should stay out of the water when tired or overheated. Recreational use must not disturb the fitness/lap swimmer. During water aerobic classes, or other classes, the pool will be closed to all other use. Children are not permitted in the pool area during water aerobics classes. Parents must sign a pool waiver and closely supervise their children under the age of 13. Running, pushing, or boisterous play is prohibited! ALL toys capable of plugging up a 2" drainpipe are prohibited. (Small dolls, animal figures, balls, and diving discs, etc.) No smoking, eating or glass articles are permitted in the pool area. Street clothes are not permitted in the pool. Users must exit the pool in the event of lightning! Board of Health pool rules are posted at the pool entrance and compliance is required. Refer to KSC Pool Rules sheet for more specifics.
Lifeguards are not provided. Swim at your own risk!
Lockers are only to be used while utilizing the facility. Please bring your own padlock and remove it when leaving the locker room. Locks left on overnight will be removed. Permanent lockers are available for monthly rental. There are a limited number of lockers available for rent in the locker rooms. Inquire at the front desk for further information. KSC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.
Persons should consult their physician before using the sauna. Medical experts indicate it is not safe to remain in a sauna for longer than 5 minutes. Saunas produce a dry heat and generally reach temperatures around 180 degrees. Do not go into the sauna directly following a strenuous exercise period. Allow yourself to cool down and your heart rate to return to a normal resting state after exiting the sauna before beginning any strenuous exercise. Do not put towels on the heating elements. Bathing suits or gym shorts are recommended.
Towel service is provided for all members and guests. Used towels may be exchanged for clean towels any time during a visit. Please deposit your towel in one of the bins provided at the exit of each locker room, at the front desk or cycle studio.
If a style of dress demonstrates that it is inappropriate, disruptive, or constitutes a threat to safety or the health of others, it will not be permitted. Shirts and shoes must be worn on the fitness area floors, including the gymnasium. Sandals or street shoes will not be permitted. Shoes that leave black marks on the courts are not permitted.
Profanity or Fighting
Will result in suspended or terminated privileges.
This facility is a smoke free - tobacco free facility. Smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco and other types of smokeless tobacco products may NOT be consumed inside our facility or in the pool area. Violations of this rule may result in the suspension or termination of privileges.
Animals will not be allowed in the building. Reasonable accommodation will be made for the handicapped.
KSC reserves the right to close all or part of its facilities, at any time, for as long as necessary to perform repairs and maintenance. Advance notice of repairs will be posted whenever possible. Membership fees will not be refunded unless management determines special circumstances warrant consideration.
Suspension or Termination of Memberships by KSC
Membership may be suspended or terminated at management’s discretion, at any time, for the following:
- Violation of facility rules.
- Failure to follow valid instructions given by any KSC staff member regarding rules, policies, or procedures.
- Negligent damage to the facility by members or their guests.
- Conduct interfering with the enjoyment of services by other members.
- Profanity or fighting.
Management reserves the right to alter or amend the rules & policies whenever deemed necessary.
