Hook Rehab Adaptive Athletics Program

The mission of the Adaptive Athletics Program is to change lives by providing new challenges and encouraging individual wellness. With support from Community Heath Network and many volunteers, the program has flourished since it was founded in 2000. The program’s success can be directly attributed to the commitment of an interactive group of individuals that has much to offer all the lives it touches. The people involved in Hook Athletics are friends, family members, former patients, volunteers and participants. Through the support of these volunteers, the program has developed adaptive opportunities for social and recreational activities.

Sports and recreation

The Hook Athletics program offers adaptive opportunities for sports and recreational activities, such as:

• Golf (ongoing clinics)
• Fishing
• Bowling
• Billiards
• Swimming (water therapy)
• Racquetball
• Power soccer
• Camping/overnight adventure
• Snowskiing
• Pottery
• Glassblowing

Social events

Participants and their families have opportunities to get acquainted at social events, including:

• Professional sporting events (Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Indians)
• Musicals and plays
• Mystery dinners
• Picnics
• Casino night 
• Card and game nights
• Pitch-ins
