The da Vinci® Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology. The system allows your surgeon’s hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site. The magnified, three-dimensional view the surgeon experiences enables him to perform precise surgery in complex procedures through small surgical incisions.

The da Vinci system enhances surgical capabilities by enabling the performance of complex surgeries through tiny surgical openings. da Vinci colorectal surgery

If your doctor recommends surgery to treat a colorectal condition, you may be a candidate for minimally-invasive da Vinci colorectal surgery. da Vinci Surgery is used to treat such colorectal conditions as: colon cancer, rectal cancer, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease).

da Vinci endometriosis resection

Endometrial resection is a new procedure used to treat pelvic endometriosis. During the surgery, the da Vinci robot facilitates removal of multiple endometriomas through the articulation of a special laser fiber using a robotically-assisted arm. da Vinci® Hysterectomy

If your doctor recommends hysterectomy, you may be a candidate for da Vinci Hysterectomy, one of the most effective, least invasive treatment options for a range of uterine conditions. da Vinci Hysterectomy is performed using the da Vinci Surgical System, which enables surgeons to perform with unmatched precision and control – using only a few small incisions.

da Vinci® Myomectomy

While hysterectomy is a proven way to resolve fibroids, it may not be the best surgical treatment for every woman. If, for example, you hope to later become pregnant, you may want to consider alternatives to hysterectomy like myomectomy. Myomectomy is a uterine-preserving procedure performed to remove uterine fibroids. A new category of minimally invasive myomectomy, da Vinci Myomectomy, combines the best of open and laparoscopic surgery.

da Vinci® Nephrectomy

If your doctor recommends surgery for a kidney disorder or kidney cancer, you may be a candidate for da Vinci Nephrectomy, a minimally-invasive approach to removal of all or part of the kidney.

da Vinci® Prostatectomy

If your urologist recommends surgery to treat your prostate cancer, you may be a candidate for a new, less invasive approach to surgery called da Vinci Prostatectomy. This approach to prostatectomy provides access to the internal anatomy through five small incisions. The surgeon is empowered to perform a very precise, nerve-sparing operation with the da Vinci Surgical System. For the patient, da Vinci Prostatectomy may result in more complete eradication of cancer, retention of bladder control and potency.

da Vinci® Thyroidectomy

If your doctor recommends surgery to treat thyroid cancer, you may be a candidate for a new, less invasive approach to surgery called da Vinci Thyroidectomy. This approach to thyroidectomy provides access to the internal anatomy through two small incisions. Using this technology, the disfiguring and traumatic aspects of traditional open surgery are avoided.

Prostate cancer and treatment

Prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer found in males in the United States. Sixteen percent of American men will be diagnosed with the disease during their lifetime.
