Breast health specialists / navigators

Whether you have questions about your mammogram or need support following your breast cancer diagnosis, Community's breast health specialists are here for you as a resource and advocate. Created in 2006, this service focuses on the needs of all breast patients. The breast specialist’s goal is to provide continuity for patients and their families throughout their health care experience during what can be a very stressful time in a woman’s life.

Contact and referral

The breast health specialists can be reached by telephone at 317-355-4114, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours and after hours by appointment. Physician referrals are welcome, but not necessary to utilize this program, nor is there a fee for these services.

About our breast health specialists

Claudia Davis, R.N., O.C.N., C.B.C.N.Claudia Davis, R.N., O.C.N., C.B.C.N. is a registered nurse, certified in oncology and breast health through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). Claudia has been with Community since 2000. Her nursing background includes work in the intensive care unit, home care and school nursing.

Claudia was the 2004 winner of Community Health Network’s Nursing Excellence award for patient-focused care; she was also nominated in 2005 and 2006. She was nominated for the Indianapolis Star Salute to Nursing award in 2005 and 2007. In 2007, she was awarded the Indiana Hometown Hero Award by the Indiana Pacers for her work with breast cancer patients. She is also a member of the Community Health Network Society for Nursing Excellence.

Claudia is the mother of three and lives with her husband of 35-plus years and their two dogs on the north side of Indianapolis.

Marcia Beckwith, a Community Breast Health NavigatorMarcia Beckwith, B.S.N., R.N., O.C.N. is a registered nurse certified in oncology. Marcia has been with Community Health network since 1988 and received her certification in oncology in 1993.

Marcia became a breast health specialist with Community in 2007. Prior to becoming a breast health specialist, Marcia worked on both inpatient and outpatient units and most recently spent eleven years as a radiation oncology nurse.

In 2007, Marcia was nominated for the Nursing Excellence Award.


Sharon Bronnenberg, R.N.Sharon Bronnenberg, R.N. has been with Community health Network since 1992, working in the specialty areas of bone marrow transplant, ICU and at the Community Regional Cancer Center - North. She joined the breast health program at Community Hospital South in September 2008. Sharon was nominated for Community Health Network’s Nursing Excellence award in 2007 and 2008.

She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Butler University (1972) and a Master Gardener designation from Purdue University (2005).

Sharon is a breast and thyroid cancer survivor. She and her husband, Michael, have been married for over 30 years. They live in a restored farm in Shelby County with their two children and many animals. Sharon's hobbies include gardening, ballroom dancing, reading, Sudoku and collecting antiques.
