Neuro-oncology clinic at Community Regional Cancer Care

For more information, please contact  the neuro-oncology coordinator at 317-621-7116, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (EST).

Community Health Network’s Neuro-Oncology Clinic (CNOC) provides an aggressive, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and care using the best known medical and surgical practices to date. We work as a team of medical professionals with patients and their families early on to make the best decision possible about the course of care.

What sets Community's Neuro-oncology clinic apart?

We are a multi-specialty cancer center.

A multi-specialty center looks at the disease from every angle and considers every treatment option and how they relate to the patient and the disease. Any and all treatments affect the entire body, so to most effectively treat a tumor, careful coordination of the various treatments is needed. By having all the available and appropriate specialists involved from the beginning, a comprehensive approach can be developed to manage the tumor. We'll gather surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, neurologists and research personnel together, right from the start.

We are a multi-disciplinary cancer center.

A multi-disciplinary center brings together not only physicians from different specialties, but also team members from other disciplines so that the patient is provided with the best possible care. At CNOC, we have medical oncology nurse practitioners, a neuropsychologist, nurse practitioners from the Symptom Management Group, a neuro-oncology nurse coordinator, and outpatient oncology nurses that will be involved in your care.

We offer individualized patient care.

No patient is just a number or a diagnosis. The care that we provide at CNOC is tailored to the individual patient. We are committed to our patients and their family members. Our team of doctors, nurses, behavioral care specialists and other health care professionals will treat both the cancer and the physical and mental conditions that develop as a result of cancer.

We actively participate in research and clinical trials.

We are members of CTSU (Cancer Trials Support Unit), a clinical research arm of the National Cancer Institute, HOG (Hoosier Oncology Group) and RTOG (Radiation Therapy Oncology Group), with active participation in research protocols for many types of cancer. Our medical and radiation oncologists are principal investigators in the studies.

We have caring and supportive team members.

For most people, hearing the words “You have a tumor” can be devastating, not only for the patient, but for the family as well. Having the best people facilitating your care becomes a priority. At CNOC, our physicians are all highly dedicated and have been recognized as some of the top doctors in the area. The members of the nursing staff have been recognized in their field for their caring, compassionate demeanor and nursing expertise.

What does this mean for you?

At Community Neuro-Oncology Clinic, you will receive cutting-edge treatments, find research-based practice and know that your team is passionate about ensuring the best possible experience for you and your family.
