Registered dietitians: expertise and experience

You can have confidence in the counseling and education registered dietitians provide. Rigorous education and testing ensure that registered dietitians offer the most current information and best guidance. Community's dietitians meet these standards:

  • Baccalaureate degree in dietetics granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent, and approved by the Commission on Accreditation/Approval for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association (CAADE of ADA).
  • A minimum of 900 supervised practice hours of pre-professional experience accredited/approved by the CAADE of ADA.
  • Completion of the registration exam for dietitians.
  • 75 hours of approved continuing professional education every five years.

Community Hospital East 

Kim Hardin, RD, CD

Kim has worked at Community Health Network since 2009 and has 25 years of experience in clinical nutrition. She has experience with pediatric and adult populations, weight management, diabetes, celiac disease, lipid management and renal. Kim graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her internship at St. Francis Medical Center in Illinois. Kim is a member of the American Dietetic Association and is certified through the state of Indiana.

Trisha Seeman, RD, CD

Trisha has worked for Community Health Network since November 2005. Her areas of specialty include weight management, diabetes, oncology, renal and behavioral health. Trisha graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in dietetics and nutrition, fitness and health. She completed her dietetic internship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2005. Trisha obtained the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management in 2008. She is certified through the state of Indiana.

Community Hospital North

Karlyn Lynch, RD, CD

Karlyn has worked for Community Health Network since 2004, performing the roles of both inpatient and outpatient dietitian. She currently provides outpatient nutrition counseling for both adult and pediatric patients. Her areas of specialty include weight management, diabetes, lipid management and prenatal nutrition. Karlyn graduated from Ball State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Dietetics. She completed her accredited internship through Ball State University. She obtained the Certificate of Training in Pediatric Weight Management in 2008 and is certified through the state of Indiana.

Karen Neff-Zebrauskas, RD, CD

Karen has worked as a registered dietitian for Community Health Network since 2002. She currently provides nutrition counseling for both adult and pediatric patients. She also specializes in eating disorders and food allergies. Karen graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Biology in 1996. She also received a B.S. in Dietetics from Western Michigan University in 2000. Karen completed her accredited internship through Central Michigan University. She obtained the Certificate of Training in Pediatric Weight Management in 2008 and is certified through the state of Indiana.

Amy Hoffman, RD, CD

Amy has 14 years of experience in clinical nutrition, including treatment of both pediatric and adult populations for eating disorders, weight management, diabetes, lipid control and celiac disease. Amy graduated from Murray State University with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. Amy is a member of the American Dietetic Association and is certified through the state of Indiana.

Community Hospital South

Karen Scrougham, RD, CD

Karen has worked as a registered dietitian for Community Health Network since 1989. She has worked in various roles during her years at Community, including inpatient and outpatient nutrition, as well as computer and nutrition project management. Currently, she specializes in weight management, healthy heart nutrition and diabetes. She also is the dietitian for the Community Hospital South bariatric program. She graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics with honors and completed her accredited internship at IU Health/Med Center. Karen is a member of the American Dietetic Association and is certified through the state of Indiana.
