2000
- Plans to build The Indiana Heart Hospital are announced by Community Health Network and central Indiana cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. The hospital is to be the nation’s first all-digital heart hospital.
- Indiana Surgery Center opens in Noblesville.
- Community Physician Network is formed. The group practice includes 160+ physicians involved in such areas as family practice, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics and other specialties, in more than 70 practices located across central Indiana.
2001
2003
The Indiana Heart Hospital opens in February as Indiana’s first dedicated heart hospital, offering a comprehensive range of cardiovascular services including a cardiac emergency department.
2005
Community Hospital North breaks ground on its Next Evolution expansion project, which will more than double the size of the hospital, renovate existing facilities and add more medical office space and a parking garage.
2006
Community Health Network celebrates its 50th anniversary.
2007
Community Hospital North completes its Next Evolution expansion project, more than doubling the size of the hospital, renovating existing facilities and adding more medical office space and a parking garage.
2009
Community Heart and Vascular is formed through the integration of more than 30 cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons with The Indiana Heart Hospital, strengthening the cardiovascular service line for Community Health Network.
2010
Community Hospital South completes its Next Evolution expansion project. Community Health Pavilion County Line also opens in the south market.
2011
Westview Hospital, as well as Westview Healthplex, joins Community Health Network in June. Also in early 2011, Community Health Network and Johnson Memorial Hospital complete a clinical collaboration agreement that includes expanding access to specialty services and adding an ambulatory health pavilion location in Johnson County.
2012
Community Physician Network was formed on January 1, 2012, as a multi-specialty physician network with more than 500 employed physicians. Community Physician Network includes the primary care doctors who previously worked together as Community Physicians of Indiana, and those who joined the network as part of Community Heart and Vascular, plus many other employed physicians representing a variety of medical specialties.
Community Howard Regional Health, based in Kokomo, became part of Community Health Network on July 1, allowing the network to expand the communities it serves to include North Central Indiana.
The Indiana Heart Hospital is renamed Community Heart and Vascular Hospital to further align with the Community Health Network family.
