Neck and back pain
Spine dysfunctions can affect all levels such as cervical (neck), thoracic (mid-back) and lumbar/sacro-iliac (low back). Pain in these areas can be from injury, overuse, poor movement habits, muscle tension or imbalance, heredity factors, surgery or a combination of these. The integrity of the muscles as well as the joints can be involved. Physical therapy can address the musculoskeletal factors to decrease pain and increase function. Patients can be educated in proper exercise, posture and body mechanics to avoid future episodes of pain and disability.
