Therapy services at our Hillsdale location in north Indianapolis include the full spectrum of physical, occupational therapy for orthopedic disorders and health. Specialties include therapy for pregnancy/post-partum; oncology/lymphedema therapy; TMJ pain; McKenzie, Graston, SFMA and Mulligan techniques; thoracic, spine and cervical treatment; upper and lower extremity therapy, including orthotics; speech-language and developmental delay in pediatric patients; pelvic floor dysfunction in men and women; chronic pain management; arthritis and osteoporosis care; and wellness coaching.

Christina Adair, PTA

Christina Adair, PTA is involved with Community Rehab & Sports Medicine's wellness program. Christina also treats orthopedic patients and patients with pregnancy related pain. Christina has a special interest and additional training in the area of osteoporosis, as well as education in prenatal and postpartum exercise, wellness coaching, and the incorporation of health promotion into physical therapy.

Julie Beeman, PT, DPT

Julie Beeman, PT, DPT is a doctor of physical therapy who specializes in general orthopedics. She has a special interest in spine health through mobilization and functional movement. Julie also has advanced training in joint mobilization of the spine, upper and lower extremities, as well as Mulligan training for orthopedic disorders.

Courtney Biggers, PTA, CLT

Courtney Biggers, PTA, CLT specializes in orthopedic disorders, low back pain in pregnancy/post-partum patients and is certified in lymphedema management. She also has advanced training in McKenzie Part A, Graston technique, core, cervical and thoracic stabilization techniques and Mullligan mobilizations with movement.

Rachel Brichler, DPT, CLT

Rachel Brichler, DPT, CLT is a doctor of physical therapy and is certified in lymphedema management. She also specializes in the treatment of orthopedic disorders.

Barbara Feltman, PT, DHS, CLT-LANA

Barbara Feltman, PT, DHS, CLT-LANA is a doctor of health sciences and certified lymphedema therapist who specializes in oncology/lymphedema management, as well as general orthopedics. She also has advanced training in manual lymph drainage, complete decongestive therapy, exercise in oncology, kinesiotaping and ASTYM.

Mary Fridlund, BSPT

Mary Fridlund, BSPT has extensive training in stabilization and rehabilitation of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine. Mary uses many manual techniques including myofascial release, neural tension mobilization and muscle energy. Mary also treats fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions, TMJ pain and dysfunction, sacroiliac pain and dysfunction, pregnancy related back pain, and myofascial restriction following mastectomy.

Valarie Goodwin, BSOT, OTR

Valarie Goodwin, BSOT, OTR specializes in upper extremity rehabilitation. She has experience with upper extremity splinting, treatment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Valerie is trained in myofascial release, proprioceptive therapy and trigger point release.

Amy Matthews, MS, OTR

Amy Matthews, MS, OTR is an occupational therapist with a special interest in pediatric patients with sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders and children needing handwriting improvement skills. She also has advanced training in sequential oral sensory approach to feeding, sensory integration and the rehabilitation of a variety of disabilities including emotional behavioral disorders and developmental disabilities.

Brett McDonald, MSPT

Brett McDonald, MSPT treats orthopedic and pediatric patients. Brett has training on many orthopedic areas and NDT training for pediatric patients.


Ladana Miles, BS, PT

Ladana Miles, BS, PT is a physical therapist with a special interest in pediatrics and neurological disorders. She also has advanced training in pediatric lower extremity orthotics and prosthetics, pediatric kinesiotaping, assessment and treatment of pediatric neurological impairments and torticollis, myofascial techniques in pediatric patients, and evaluation and treatment strategies for early intervention.

Joel Novak, PT, DPT, CSCS

Joel Novak, PT, DPT, CSCS is certified in strength and conditioning through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He has advanced training in the Graston technique and Mulligan mobilization with movement, as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of movement and muscle imbalances with the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). His areas of special interest include orthopedics as well as the diagnosis and treatment of foot/ankle, knee and shoulder pathology.

Christine Oser, MA, CCC-SLP

Christine Oser, MA, CCC-SLP is a certified speech-language pathologist who specializes in pediatric speech and language disorders, including non-verbal and augmentative alternative communication and apraxia of speech. Christine has advanced training in the assessment and treatment of developmental delays in pediatric patients. She also has experience in treating autism spectrum disorders.

Amanda Owens, DPT

Amanda Owens, DPT treats pelvic floor dysfunction as well as many orthopedic diagnoses. Amanda has training in women’s and men’s health and pelvic floor evaluation and treatment.

Alissa Parker, MS, CCC-SLP

Alissa Parker, MS, CCC-SLP treats speech and language delays, developmental delays, and has extensive training with pediatric patients. Alissa has advanced training in apraxia, phonology, and articulation.

Shane Steimel, MSPT

Shane Steimel, MSPT is the manager of the north side Rehab & Sports Medicine Centers, including Carmel, Geist, Hillsdale, Castleton, Noblesville and Saxony. Shane is a licensed physical therapist with more than 10 years of experience as a rehab manager. His clinical experience includes a specialization in orthopedics, sports medicine, spine and onsite industrial rehabilitation. He continues to be involved in local business organizations including positions on the board of directors for the University of Indianapolis Alumni Association and for Western Boone Schools.

Don Tarr, PTA

Don Tarr, PTA treats orthopedic patients and patients with chronic pain. He has training in chronic pain management, positional release and muscle energy techniques.

Karen Wood, MHS, PT

Karen Wood, MHS, PT specializes in arthritis care and general orthopedic disorders, with a special interest in cervical spine and hip joint dysfunction. She has advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of spine dysfunction, muscle energy, and functional mobilization/stabilization. Additionally, Karen is a US Bone & Joint Initiative educator.
